Price information
Most service are based on a fixed price notified in advance of work commencing.
Other services when the amount of work is unknown is based upon £200.00 per hour (inclusive of VAT)
There is usually a minimum fee of £90 (incl. VAT), which may be lower for very simple single page documents.
Documents often require an additional stamp from the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (an Apostille) and also from consulates for the destination country.
Example:
Notary fees for a power of a attorney for Spain £180.00 (incl. VAT)
Notary fee for Apostille £30.00
Cost of apostille and agent's charges £51.07
Total: £261.07
Notary fees for certifying degree - £150.00 (incl. VAT)

Complaints
First write to me, preferably by email.
If the matter cannot be immediately resolved I will refer the complaint to The Notaries Society who will deal with the complaint under their Complaints Procedure which is approved by the Faculty Office. It is free to use.

Finally, complaints may also be made to the Legal Ombudsman after a period of eight weeks from the date the complaint was first made to me.

If you decide to make a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman, you must refer your matter to the Leal Ombudsman within one year from the act/omission or within one year from when you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint.
